प्रिय रोजर,  तुम कभी मेरे घर नहीं आए। दिल में रहे, दिमाग़ में रहे लेकिन घर कभी नहीं आए। मेरा गांँव में 8 कमरे का घर है। पापा ने अपनी कमाई से बनाया है। कुछ दीवारों से पेंट जा रहा है। कहीं कहीं फर्श से पलस्तर छूट गया है। कहीं कहीं छत से पानी रिसता है। घर के सामने एक नीम का पेड़ है। और उसकी छांव में इतनी जगह कि एक टेनिस कोर्ट बन जाए।  तुम घर आते तो मम्मी से कहकर उनके हाथ के पराठे, पापा से उनके हाथ का मीट और भैया से उनके हाथ का चिकन, अपने हाथों से खिलाता। तुम्हें पापा की खेती दिखाता। उनकी गौशाला में भी ज़रूर लेकर जाता और उनके स्कूल, स्कूल भी - लेकिन तुम नहीं आए, कभी नहीं आए।    आते भी कैसे? तुम तो मेरे जैसे लाखों के लिए कोर्ट में दौड़ रहे थे। तुम तो बता रहे थे कि खिलाड़ी होने के क्या मायने हैं। लेकिन अब तो तुम टेनिस भी छोड़ रहे हो। अब तो आओगे न?  क्यूंँ आऊंँ? यह कैसा सवाल है? माफ़ करना मैं चिल्ला रहा हूंँ। अरे! सांँस शरीर से, जल प्यासे से, हवा पत्तों से आने की वज्ह पूछकर आते हैं? तुम्हारा आना मुझे जीवनमय कर देगा इसलिए आ जाओ। तुम आओगे तो सजीव हो उठूंँगा इ...
